“A Must-Have Personal Guide in Bali”

After reading a bunch of reviews on Bali guides/drivers, my sis and I decided on Wayan’s tour. There were so many great things said about Wayan Jhon Mudika, and I was hoping to get him as well. The odds went our way. He is warm, friendly, patient, generous and honest. I’ve never met a guide so nice, smart and time flexible. We had our itinerary set before meeting, and we had to make changes/requests along the way. He accommodated each of them, and didn’t hinder us with time restraints. He allowed us to set the pace on each place we visited. And I can honestly say, that’s a rarity. I’ve booked tours/drivers in different Asian countries, and none of them compare to Wayan’s service. He may not be a registered tour guide, but he lived there all his life, and gives you honest answers to the best of his ability.
We learned from Wayan, and I hope he learned from us. He is a true asset to Indonesia. He has a vision (along with his entire family) by building this cooking school in his village Patas Taro. It’s only been open for several months, but it’s located in his family’s farm, and he created a warm and inviting oasis for people to gather, and eat food that’s a farm-to-table concept. We strive hard for that here in the US, and it’s almost a trend now. Wayan and his family has it in his backyard, and it was the best dinner we’ve had in Bali. They served traditional dishes plus some stuff we requested. I am humbled to meet Wayan and see how simple and self-sustained true Balinese life is. Thank you for the experience, Wayan.
